How to cope with the number of song requests?
Firstly, I think this is a fantastic concept - truly the best way to identify songs & music. One of the main problems I see is that with the
number of song identification requests made every day, a request only appears on the front page for perhaps a couple of hours before it is pushed down the queue onto the next page of the listings never to be looked at again. If anyone else is like me, I rarely look past the first or second page. What I think would help is a way of listing by category or searching through all the requests by keyword or tags. For example, people who may be good at identifying classical music could list all the Classical requests; those who like to try their powers of identification on R&R may like to list all requests in that category. On the listing page, I am not interested in the identifications that have been made and are displayed in the "Recent Activity" column on the right. I think the Activity list could be reduced to only a few and make better use of the space with category lists or tag lists that when clicked, list all the requests for that category/tag. Perhaps some personalization on the home page would help so that only certain categories of requests are listed depending on preferences I have selected. Hope this suggestion may help in some way, or inspire someone with some better ideas.
