    Music is a very important thing in my life. After listening too much albums, Ive been always looking for new sounds/songs that could surprise or amaze me again for a while. So when a listen something interesting i dont know the name, i really NEED to know where did it came from so I can check if its really an exploring and unusal artist.

    There are unsolved songs since 6 years ago. I see everyday bored users who just want to play, keep burying real questions, real needs.
    This is a very good idea, and i suppose it must be…

  4. A list for unsolved songs

    I think it'd be better if we have a list of unsolved songs, so those songs will be solved sooner with higher probability. Thanks in advance.

  6. Make this website more popular.

    There is almost nobody on this website. It's not very helpful because nobody ever knows what song it is.

    I only found out about it from reading an article after Googling "how to find what song this is".

  7. With requests created in the old site, we need to know who the person is (if they reply)

    (This only applies for requests created before the WZS relaunch in end-January this year.)

    Some people still have these open and unsolved, and discussions have come a long way in the comments.
    Unless your 'user detector' works perfectly, it can't be determined which of the user is the person who created the request.

    I've made the mistake many times by commenting "I think this user won't reply any more". But he was there!! I was simply unable to figure him out between the many users that commented.

    So it would be nice if you could 'mark' him somehow, a similar…

  8. User should get alerted on the index page when there is new mail in mailbox ("1 new message")

    Hi, since this is a bit time-consuming to always check mailbox for possible WZS-internal mail, the user should get an alert like "1 new message" if there is a new message incoming.
    I've had it many times that I wrote to users and they apologized after 4 weeks that they never looked in their mailbox before.

    How could they, anyway, if they did not know they got a new message?
    As I wrote above, users will only very rarely check haphazardly whether they got new mail.

    And no, the e-mail notification that there is a new message in the mailbox…

  9. Confirm button needs better feedback to show that the file is uploading.

    Just changing the button to say 'uploading' would work just fine. Before I realized it was working I clicked it several times and got multiple errors. Confusing.

  10. A direct ling to the sample in the tweet

    That would just be the basic of sharing. When I click on "Share" on Tweeter. It just writes the #whatzatsong. It should bring a ling to the sample, so my followers can come and help directly, instead of looking for my contrib...

  11. Cannot upload some tracks

    Sometimes when I upload a track cut with I_tunes or converted with switch, the uploading doesn't work. I've got this error message

  12. Don't accept questions without a genre.

    Or at least make the number of answers present at all times.
    I not like wasting time clicking on songs that have already been answered.

  13. No way to change e-mail address used for registration?

    Well, I'm actually posting this on behalf of a user who speaks nearly no English (let alone any French).

    It seems this user is right: you CANNOT change the e-mail address you've registered with?
    This would be a very bad thing, because imagine your e-mail gets hacked or your e-mail provider does no longer allow free e-mail and you do not want to pay, so you're forced to switch to another e-mail provider.

    Re-registering would be out of the question, too, because that way you'd lose all your alerts and solved requests (which many people may occasionally need to look…

  16. [bash (Linux/*nix/Cygwin)] 'wzsget': short 4-liner to d/l mp3 samples off WZS

    It only needed me 4 lines to write a short simple bash 4-liner that can (w)get me the samples I need to download to my HDD. Thought I'd share it here. Cut and paste and name it 'wzsget' or 'wzsget.sh' if you insist.

    USAGE: wzsget <number>

    So if you're l33t, 'wzsget 31337' will get you sample #31337.
